For Your Children
The early days are important and we like to see mothers during pregnancy to advise on diet and oral hygiene for themselves and their babies. We advise seeing children from about two years to establish a happy relationship and to look after their dental development. The dentist will advise you on diet, oral hygiene, fluoride, fissure sealants and the regular monitoring for early decay and gum problems that are essential to ensure that your children keep their teeth for life. Children can be registered with a dentist from birth, please contact the dental practice.

Childsmile, is a Scotland-wide initiative to help improve the health of our children’s teeth. Our dental team are fully trained to admister Childsmile. At the dental practice, you will be given advice and support from the dental team, who will show you how you can stop your child from suffering from tooth decay in the future.
For older children, in addition to routine care, crowded or misplaced teeth can be corrected and if they take part in sports we can advise on suitable protection. We can also refer to a local orthodontic practice if required.

Prevention of gum disease in adults is important. Our hygienist is an essential part of the dental team and works with the dentist in the prevention and treatment of gum disease. For heavily stained teeth, a procedure as simple as a scale and polish from a dental hygienist can improve their appearance.
Our hygienist periodontal therapy appointments are available privately on referal only from a dentist.
